Raman – Charpak Fellowship 2013
One of the best mobility programs for Indian and French PhD student for foreign research work. This fellowship is in honour of Sir C.V. Raman and Prof. Georges Charpak, the two great Nobel laureates in Physics from India and France whose scientific contribution have greatly influenced the advancement of science.
This program is funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India and the French Embassy in India, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of France, Indo French Centre for Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR/CEFIPRA).

Financial Support for Indian PhD students in France:
- Consolidated Fellowship of Euros 1300 per month including accommodation charges plus social Security charges to be paid in France for the Indian students through Campus France;
- Air ticket by economy class(to and fro between India and France);
- Insurance coverage (Travel and health);
- Administrative costs for Visa(gratis) and registration (where applicable; e.g;
“Centre pour les Etudes en France”(CEF) registration in France).
Financial Support for French PhD students in India:
- Fellowship of Rs. 25,000/month to French students plus Accommodation charges during visit to India;
- Air ticket by economy class(to and fro between France and India);
- Insurance coverage (Travel and health);
- Administrative costs for Visa(gratis) and registration (where applicable).
NOTE: No support will be provided for the family members during the Fellowship period.
Eligibility for PhD students
- Applicants from India must be Indian Citizens residing in India and registered for a PhD in a recognized University or research institution in India
- Applicants from France must be residing in France and registered for a PhD in a recognized University or research institution in France (no nationality requirement)
- Master’s degree (in science, technology or medicine) from recognized University/Institute with top grades;
- Age not above 30 years as on 31st May 2013;
- Students once supported by CEFIPRA are not eligible;

- Research work proposed during the fellowship period (Maximum 5 pages);
- Proof of experience in research work (master degree dissertation or research article in national or international journal);
- Curriculum vitae;
- Acceptance letter from French / Indian host scientist, mentioning his/her availability during the visit of the student;
- Two Reference letters from supervisor and Professor/Scientist.
- Academic and scientific excellence -Copies of certificates (Master & Bachelor degree, etc.)
- Proof of age(Any certificate of examination mentioning age /Passport)
